Hucklebones

Hucklebones is my type of brand.  Styles are sophisticated and beautifully tailored yet remain young and childlike.  There is a hint to vintage or an appreciation of childhoods gone by, but is very much placed in today.  They have been described as the 'must have' label by Junior Magazine and were awarded 'Emerging Talent / Best New Brand' by the same magazine.  Fabrics and print processes are carefully sourced, long lasting and natural, many based/sourced from Europe.  See the beautiful and slighty quirky lookbook below.

Golden Hook

I've just read about this fantastic shop on the great blog http://babyccinokids.com/blog/ .  Basically, choose a product, colour, stitch style and Grannie to knit it for you, then in 15 days you receive your customized item.  The concept came from a visit to a Great Aunt at a retirement home, bored and talented grannies would like to earn an extra bit of cash.  For more information see http://www.goldenhook.fr/

Hand hook yarn

Beautiful Crochet collars, available in a selection of colours.  For more details check out http://handhookyarn.bigcartel.com/

Charlotte Taylor

Although I am obviously interested in womenswear it isn't something i'd usually review.  However, the AW11 range by Charlotte Taylor just struck me!  I love the styling, simple yet bold print and bright colours.  It has a 60's -esq feel about it.  I love it!  Find out more at http://www.charlottetaylorltd.com/

Club Cinq

A lovely timeless, classic brand of fashion and bedding from Switzerland. Simple designs made in small quantities. Perfect clothing which can be dressed up or dressed down.  The boyswear isn't quite to my taste, a little too conservative.  Definitely a brand to watch.  Find out more at http://www.clubcinq.com/

A hen party to die for........100 Layer Cake

I've spoken of the inspirational blog 100 Layer cake previously.  They feature such beautiful and imaginative parties / weddings / engagements and this hen doo doesn't disappoint!  It ticks all the right boxes, just gorgeous.  Images courtesy of http://www.100layercake.com/blog/2011/12/12/lets-get-cozy-bachelorette-party-shoot/

Dilly Craft fair

I recently did a little crocheting for a friends craft fair....here is the paper display I used for the table.

Posting

I read somewhere that you should not apologise about not blogging as it should be for fun and as soon as you start apologising and feeling like you 'have to' it becomes a chore.  However, this is pretty hard when you know that you haven't been blogging much and feel like you need to explain yourself.

Time just seems to disappear and the less time I get to research the less inspired I become.  I find it hard to find my role in the world!  How I want my blog to develop etc.  However, I managed to spend a little time looking at some inspirational blogs and i'm back.....feeling full of inspiration!  So my apologies for being absent and I hope to inspire you too.  Also special thanks to Anabelle for always commenting, I really appreciate it :)

So here is a quick rundown of some lovely inspirational images that caught my eye this week.

Dawanda

I came across this website today and although I haven't really had a great lot of time to fully explore, it looks really interesting.  From what I can make out it is a German Etsy cross between 'Not on the high street'.  There is a definite fashion edge, giving you options to specific styles and years as well as mood boards.  There was this little character, which I think is super cute.  (see below)  Why not check it out and see if it may help you with your Christmas shopping!  http://www.microsofttranslator.com/bv.aspx?from=&to=en&a=http%3A%2F%2Fen.dawanda.com%2F

Coloured bulb Christmas wreath

A great wreath, although prehaps without the tinsel and elves!  Would look more contemporary...still the idea is pretty cool.  Found at http://cdiannezweig.blogspot.com/2010/11/kitschy-thrifty-retro-christmas.html

Made by Joel .....Christmas & Hanukkah

So its the 1st of December so I think its fair to start posting Christmassy articles!  Especially with all the doom and gloom around I think we really need a little lightheartedness.  Apologies if thats not a word!  I've featured Made by Joel before, he creates quirky/fun illustrated activities for kids and all the family.  This festive seasons is no exception.  Have a look at his website: http://madebyjoel.com/2011/11/dressy-cats-winter-holiday-sets-for-hanukkah-and-christmas.html
